Gretchen Peters, the writer of country hits including Martina McBride's "Independence Day" and George Strait's "Chill of an Early Fall," is the ringleader at Saturday, Jan. 30's "Evening of Stories and Storytellers," a benefit for Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee that also features spoken word artist Minton Sparks and performing songwriter/author Marshall Chapman.

The performance is intended both as a night of entertainment and as a commemoration of the 37th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.

The show is at The Rutledge, 410 Fourth Ave. S., and tickets are $30 for general admission or $60 for a VIP pass that includes priority seating and one well drink. There'll be a VIP reception at 6:30 p.m., and doors open for general admission ticket-holders at 7:30 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m.
